'Barbel Barbel' // Belonging to the Carp family, Barbel are a native species & have been in some British rivers since the ice age. On a sunny day, crossing the historic bridge over the river swale, they can be seen quite clearly feeding along the shallow river bed, the larger adult fish like shiny bronze torpedoes; its hard not to be impressed by them.
